Article Response #1 (Due Thurs 5/8)

How cool is this idea??!! I had not heard of google self driving cars before reading this article. Having growing up watching The Jetson's, I can only hope this is the beginning of having something similar!! Probably not in my lifetime, but still. Considering our current economic state, I can't imagine that the average American would be able to afford a self driving car or even better flying car!!

One thing that I did think would be useful and more readily available is the lane keep assist (LKA). I remember vividly dozing off from being so exhausted when being pregnant during my drive home from work in the afternoons. It was scary! Something like this would have given me more reassurance of keeping me safe. I can see this being very useful in helping with the texting & driving problem that we have today.  I see so many people on the interstates that weave and never know how close they were to an accident until someone blows their horn at them to get their attention. If their car would alert them quicker, I think a lot of accidents would be prevented.

I agree, this may not be a common thing in my lifetime, but just the fact that the technology exists is amazing. I too think that these advancements can help make current cars safer.
